The YouTube satire by Hisham Fageeh (@HishamFageeh) of Saudi gender-based driving restrictions, "No Woman, No Drive," so tunefully recasting the magnificent Bob Marley song of similar name, is approaching 10 million plays since its late October launch there. I asked a Saudi I know at work if she was among the millions who had seen it, but she had not, and as a few of us watched I noticed that there were moments in the video where only she laughed, enjoying a bit of the satire that I could not grasp. It's a reminder that a healthy dose of modesty is appropriate when looking into the meanings of another culture.
